PCB Assembly FAQ: Parts Delivery, Stencils, Pilot-to-Volume

Answers about assembly services, sourcing and testing.

What component delivery formats do you accept?

Tape and reel is best. We also accept cut tape, loose parts in labeled bags (counted at incoming inspection) and trays. Loose parts carry a small handling fee and a slight yield-risk note.

What if my parts are not enough for the full quantity?

Order with a shorter build or supply spares. We report actual placement yield; a 2-3% attrition allowance on small passives avoids stop-line shortages.

Do you stock components?

We source from authorized distributors with full traceability - see Components Sourcing. Customer consigned parts are accepted with prior notice.

Who owns the stencil?

The stencil is produced per order and archived in our shop for your repeat orders. You can request it shipped with the boards any time.

Can you assemble boards I had made elsewhere?

Yes - consigned bare boards are inspected on arrival; see Special Notes for the out-of-spec procedure.

What is your minimum order?

5 boards for standard assembly. Lower quantities are quoted case by case.

How fast is assembly?

Standard: 3-5 working days after parts arrive. Express SMT-only runs: 24-48 hours - ask for the express lane.

Do you support flex and rigid-flex assembly?

Yes, with dedicated carriers/frames for flex panels to protect the material during placement and reflow.

Can you add conformal coating?

Acrylic, silicone and urethane coatings by spray or dip, with masking. Potting is available for volume builds.

How do pilot builds scale to volume?

The same stencil, program and profile follow the part number. Pilot findings (feeders, panelization, test points) are recorded in the traveler, so volume orders repeat the proven setup.

What test can you perform?

ICT with your fixture, functional test to your procedure, boundary scan on request. Fixtures can be designed and built in-house.

How are boards packed?

ESD bags with desiccant and humidity cards, vacuum-sealed on request, foam-separated in cartons. Shipper choice honored where practical.

Do you mark boards with date codes?

Yes, date-code and lot marking on the board edge or designated silk area on request.

Can I get X-Ray or AOI reports?

Reports and images for your order are archived and available on request - BGA X-Ray images ship with first articles by default.

What happens if a part goes EOL during my order?

We alert you immediately with distributor alternatives and stop before placing obsolete stock, unless you instruct otherwise.
