Thick Copper PCBs (also called heavy copper PCBs) are printed circuit boards fabricated with finished copper weights of 3 oz or more, up to 20 oz per layer through our extended plating process. Unlike standard 1-2 oz boards, heavy copper combines high-current carrying capability with strong mechanical and thermal reliability, which makes it the first choice for power electronics.

Key advantages of thick copper boards: extremely high current carrying capacity, better heat dissipation, reduced layer count for power circuits, high mechanical strength for large connectors and busbars, and improved reliability under thermal cycling. Copper planes can be plated up to 20 oz with controlled edge profile and sidewall quality.

Typical applications include switching power supplies, solar inverters, EV chargers and on-board chargers, motor controllers, welding equipment, UPS systems, automotive electronics and industrial power control. We support 2-30 layers, board thickness 0.8-3.2 mm, copper 3-20 oz (105-700 um), IPC Class 2/3 and UL certified materials.
